Tampa Brass & Aluminum Corp. receives supplier excellence award

(Tampa, Florida, April 20, 2011) - Tampa Brass & Aluminum Corp., a third generation family owned business since 1957, was recognized for its quality and performance by Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems. Tampa Brass received a Supplier Excellence Award at a recognition ceremony held at the Wyndham hotel in Andover, Mass. on April 13, 2011.

Raytheon recognizes its suppliers based on three important factors: on-time delivery measures, sustained performance on quality and commitment to continuous process and quality improvement.

"Our castings and precision machined components will provide an unprecedented level of technological capability for this ship," said Tampa Brass president Chris Leto. "Ultimately, the parts we manufacture for Patriot, Zumwalt, Thermal Weapons and more help protect the brave men and women of the United States Military. We all have family or friends in the military that are out there defending our freedom. We understand Mission Assurance and are extremely proud of what we do and how well we do it."

Tampa Brass's role in these programs dates back in the late 70's with Hawk Missile and continues to evolve and grow. Tampa and Raytheon partnered in the Navy DoD Mentor Protégé Program in 2003; earning us both two Nunn Perry Awards for our success in the program. Our development from the Mentor Protégé Program has catapulted us into the "next level" of business in our industry. We have raised the bar in technology including Six Sigma, lean, Pro E engineering, ISO 9001 quality certification and ERP systems and processes. We now provide complex critical components for many defense related programs as well as commercial industries.
